427 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Ghana yesterday, 11th May, 2020, to bring the country’s number of confirmed COVID-19 positives to 5,127.
The number of recoveries and deaths remain unchanged from the most-recent previous update of 494 and 22 respectively.
This update was given by the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, at a press briefing on Tuesday morning.
Of these 427 new cases, 307 are from Ashanti Region while 89 are from Greater Accra region. Central, Volta and Western regions recorded 27, 1 and 3 new cases respectively.
272 of the 307 new cases from the Ashanti Region are coming from Obuasi township.
