Ghana has recorded 3 more cases of coronavirus infections bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19.
According to the information on ghanahealthservice.org, the 3 new cases were confirmed on 20th March, 2020, 2 from Greater Accra Region and 1 from Ashanti Region. All three are imported cases.
The three include;
- A 55-year-old Ghanaian woman resident of the UK who returned to Ghana to within weeks.
- An 84-year-old Ghanaian lady resident of the United Kingdom who came back to Ghana within the past two weeks.
- A 27-year-old Chinese male who returned to Ghana (Ashanti Region) in the past two weeks.
The statement on the website states that contact tracing has started for all the confirmed cases.
Currently over 279, 000 cases have been confirmed globally with over 11, 500 deaths recorded. However over 92, 000 recoveries have been made.
Ghana has not recorded any deaths from the 19 confirmed COVID-19 infections.
