BONO REGION RECORDS FIRST COVID-19 CASE AS GHANA’S POSITIVE COUNT HITS 3,091

Bono Region, which as at the previous update on 4th May, 2020, was one of the four (4) regions out of the sixteen (16) in Ghana which had not recorded any case has seen its first COVID – 19 positive count.

 

This was announced in the latest COVID – 19 update on 6th May, 2020 which has brought Ghana’s total number of positive counts to three thousand and ninety – one (3,091) from the previous two thousand seven hundred and nineteen (2,719). Nine (9) additional recoveries have been made bringing the total number of recoveries to three hundred and three 303. Number of deaths, however, remain at eight (8).

 

The greater Accra Region remains the region with the highest case count in the country with two thousand five hundred and seventy – nine (2,579) while Ashanti Region is second with one hundred and sixty – five (165), Eastern Region comes third with ninety – five (95) cases.

 

The rest are  

 

Western North Region – 56

Central Region – 50

Western Region – 32

Volta Region – 30

Upper East Region – 26

Oti Region – 23

Upper West Region – 19

Northern Region – 13

North East Region – 2

Bono Region – 1.

 

Three regions – Savannah, Ahafo and Bono East – have not recorded any case yet.
