Naa Adzorkor Addo popularly known as Ms Naa has left YFM. Until her departure, she doubled as the General Manager of the station and the host of Ryse N Shyne.
Ms Naa is a veteran in the radio business. Back in 1997, she won a radio host competition on Vibe FM. She later moved to Groove FM and then left to the USA where she studied journalism at Essex County College and graduated with an Associate Degree. She also studied Film and Television and graduated with Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) from New York University’s Tisch School of Arts.
Her return to Ghana in 2008 saw her set up a shop at YFM Ghana where she worked side by side with the station’s first Program Director to co-create their unique sound and content. Accolades like Employee of the Year, Presenter of the Year and the 2011 Most Inspiring Presenter of the Year at the Radio and Television Personality Awards were soon trophies on her mantle.
Not only a mainstay on radio, she is also a judge on the Vodafone Icons reality series for four years running as well as serving as a brand influencer for Ghana’s most popular youth data subscription service, Vodafone X.
Due to her broad creative background, uncanny understanding of the broadcast/entertainment industry and strong management and people skills, Ms Naa served as General Manager of Ghana’s #1 urban radio station, YFM as well as continuing to host their ever dynamic morning show, RYSE N SHYNE.
She is unrivaled in her energy, her ability to express herself and engage her listeners. It is clear that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
She took to the micro-blogging site, twitter to announce her departure from the station. “After 11 yrs of knocking out the competition, my time with my family at Yfm has come to an end. Sad though I might be, I enjoyed every minute of it and am by no means done. Look for your girl cos imma be out there kickin ass and taking names #ImASavage #podcastondaway”
When one of her followers on twitter asked why she is leaving the station, “Money no dey” she replied.
This comes barely 24hours after Caroline Sampson also announced her departure from the station.
